Film screening and talk by celebrated African filmmaker
Join pre-eminent Burkina Faso filmmaker Gaston Jean-Marie Kaboré as he introduces his celebrated film, Buud Yam,
released in 1997. The film received critical acclaim at several
international film festivals, including Cannes, and won the prestigious
grand prize (Étalon de Yennenga) at the 15th Panafrican Film and
Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO). Mr. Kaboré will receive an
honorary doctorate from Concordia University on June 20 in honour of
his immense contribution to filmmaking on the African continent and
beyond.
