Without Wings, former part-time Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema Animation professor Jo Meuris' University of California thesis film, made its world premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival in August 2010.

Professor Daniel Cross' latest film, Last Train Home, won the VPRO IDFA Award for Best Feature-Length Documentary at the 23rd International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam, and headed to the Sundance Film Festival in January 2010.

Professor Richard Kerr made a significant donation to The Film Reference Library of The International Film Festival (TIFF) Bell Lightbox earlier in 2010 when he gave the six works of art that form his Industrie/Industry series of motion picture weaving light boxes.
